A village of the past

Village Life and Idyllic Scenes in Museumsdorf Niedersulz

Founded in 1979 the Museumsdorf Niedersulz is the largest open air museum in Lower Austria, which exhibits and documents the workaday life of a characteristic village in the Weinviertel at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

Nearly 80 historical buildings like farmhouses, chapels, barns, an old tavern and school, typical winecellars of two centuries are genuinely constructed in the Museumsdorf Niedersulz.

Many of the interiors have been furnished and recreate lifestyle, how people were living in the countryside in these days.
